The Sagow Pimachiwin Guidebook. 2011.
The Sagow Pimachiwin guidebook describes plants and animals of cultural significance to the Mikisew Cree First Nation (MCFN). The guidebook is based on the knowledge of 14 Mikisew Cree First Nation traditional harvesters and community members, and focuses on plants and animals within the traditional territory of MCFN. The Mikisew Cree First Nation Government and Industry Relations (MCFN GIR) approached CIER for assistance in developing the guidebook. The purpose of the guidebook is to:
Two versions of the guidebooks were produced: a community version containing all knowledge shared by interviewees, and a public version with sensitive (e.g. medicinal, ceremonial) details removed.
