Sharing the Story: Sustainable Initiatives in First Nations - 2005
This reader-friendly report outlines common elements that contributed to the success of sustainable initiatives in First Nations across Canada. The report provides First Nations with:
Concrete examples of First Nations’ sustainable initiatives, including accomplishments, obstacles and ways obstacles were overcome
Recommendations for providing support for sustainable initiatives and messages from the project or community leaders
Researchers from CIER traveled to 15 selected First Nations (August 2004 to January 2005) interested in sharing information about their sustainable initiative. Long interviews and storytelling methods were used to gather information from these communities. Sharing the Story: Sustainable Initiatives in First Nations and Nation to Nation, a magazine, were the two resulting products.
