The Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER) invites applicants for the position of Project Manager.
The successful candidate will be keen to join our team to plan and conduct sound physical and social scientific primary and secondary research and project implementation in the areas of Species at Risk legislation, community engagement, and climate change adaptation and mitigation as they relate to Indigenous communities. The role of Project Manager is best suited for an individual that is able to work closely and collaboratively in a team setting and also is a motivated self-starter in accomplishing project work.
As a national First Nation directed environmental non-profit organization with charitable status, CIER’s mission is to work in partnership with Indigenous nations to support and build sustainable Indigenous communities and a healthy environment. We conduct research and provide training to build sustainable communities and protect lands and waters. CIER is very interested in people with a background that reflects decolonization and community empowerment, and whom are comfortable working with a team with people of diverse backgrounds. As an organisation, we work towards reconciliation with Indigenous Nations and non-Indigenous allies. We are a team of like-minded individuals who strive to build environmental capacity in and with Indigenous community partners. CIER personnel often work in a virtual office setting. This position might include travelling to remote communities (when it is safe to do so).
