Glenn Tssessaze, M.A.

Picture
Glenn is located in Richmond, BC, on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territories of the Squamish, Musquem and Tsel-Waututh First Nations.

Glenn Tssessaze is from Lac Brochet, where he grew up speaking Dene as his first language.  Lac Brochet is an isolated community in the north west corner of Manitoba and it is part of Treaty 10.  Glenn has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in Native Studies.  He interviewed Elders and community members in Dene and transcribed them into English for his thesis.  He has taught Community History, Aboriginal Law and Native Studies in a High School in Lac Brochet.

Glenn has worked on oral history projects, archival research, and health research projects.  In the past, Glenn created and implemented projects to inspire the youth and community members. These projects include youth achievement awards, empowerment workshops and traditional knowledge gatherings.

In his free time, Glenn enjoys going for long walks and enjoys watching the sunset. He is grateful when he is with his family and friends in traditional ceremonies.
