One of the key messages that was heard loud and clear is that communities need to engage Elders and youth in this important climate change work. The transfer of Indigenous Knowledge needs to happen. AFN Manitoba Regional Chief, Kevin Hart said, "...Losing an Elder is like losing an encyclopedia each time". It is imperative that Indigenous leaders engage Elders to understand how the climate has been changing and to also engage the youth to share that knowledge now and into the future.
